Please follow the steps below to properly update your DGL-5500 Firmware.

Plese Note the fillowing before you begin the upgrade process:
1. Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC.
2. Do NOTupgrade firmware over a wireless connection. Failure of the firmware upgrade and/or device may result. Use only hard-wired Ethernet network connections.

Step 1. Save the current routers configuration to file. Maintenance/System/Save Configuraton Section.
(Note that reloading this configuration file onto new major version of firmware may cause problems and thus is recommended to reconfigure the router as if it was new. Do not load the old configuration file from the old major version. If you are upgrading from minor to minor version, reloading of the configuration file should cause no problems. Should you need the configuration information from the previous saved configuration file, capture, copy or write down all required information from the configuration file loaded on the router BEFORE upgrading to the newer firmware version)

Step 2. Factory reset the router using the routers web page Maintenance/System/Restore to Factory Default or you can also use a paper clip and hold the RESET button located at the bottom of the uint for 10 seconds.

Step 3. Update the router from the routers web page Maintanance/System/Upgrade Firmware using the .bin file downloaded. The .bin file has to be unpacked/extracted from the .zip file you ave downloaded.

Step 4. After the router has updated and upgrade page has finish the countdown, perform one more Factory reset to the router using the routers web page configuration at Maintenance/System.

Step 5. After the router has reset and come back to ready, reconfigure the router from scratch or reload the saved configuration file.

You have completed the firmware upgrade!

Note: Do not forge to enable your Anti virus and Firewall programs after the upgrade is completed.
