- IMPORTANT: Before installing the VAIO Care Update software, please note the following:
- In order for the VAIO Care (Desktop) to start from VAIO Care Metro, version 1.3.1.08220 or higher of the VAIO Care Metro app is required. Please download the VAIO Care Metro app from "VAIO picks" found on the Windows 8 "Store" app.
- The Windows 8 operating system must be installed on your computer as well as the VAIO Care application software version 8.0 or higher.
- During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.
Download and Installation Instructions

- Download the SOAVCA-P0321166-1182.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
- Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SOAVCA-P0321166-1182.EXE file to begin the installation.
- At the "User Account Control" screen, click "Yes".
- Follow the on-screen instruction to finish the installation.
- Please wait for a while for the installation is complete.
The installation of the VAIO Care Update is complete.
