This firmware update utility is for the HP Color LaserJet 2605 series printers. The update is recommended for HP Color LaserJet 2605 series printers that have a version prior to 20071108. This utility updates the printer firmware version to 20071108. Your printer's current firmware version can be found on the Self Test/Configuration Page which can be printed from the printer's Reports menu.

Includes all previous firmware update fixes and enhancements.

20071108 fixes

* PostScript Color Model-Black & Red (usually seen in Adobe Acrobat 8.0 and Adobe Illustrator)
* PostScript - page size/margins fix, (letter instead of A4)
* Network stack fix implemented - improved network stability with Cisco router and possibly other vendors.
* Non-Volatile RAM fix - recovers from a interrupted NVRAM write
* Network stack -now meets 300 byte DHCP specification.
* Corrects hangs and jams when duplex printing a job from a web browser with an odd number of A4 pages.
* Updated Color tables to correct dark blue printing almost black.
* HPUX printer discovery during installation is fixed.
* Universal Printer Driver (UPD) status alert support implemented.

20061114 fix list

* Improved memory performance.
* Fix to allow firmware download while a font DIMM (dual inline memory module) is installed.
* Network connectivity - corrected a SLP thread / Memory overwrite.
* Corrects supplies status issues with cartridges returning incorrect values.

20060510 fix list

* New improved color tables.
* The Toolbox and Configuration page will show "Not Connected" rather than "configuring" if no LAN cable is connected to the printers network port.
* Increased a time out on duplex pages so that jobs that print at half-speed or slower will now print instead of creating an error condition on the printer.
