The following procedure provides the steps necessary to add the FreeAgent Tools software to your FreeAgent Desktop drive. This software includes diagnostics, power settings adjustment utility and a file backup utility.

Procedure - Macintosh:

Note: Prior to installing this update, make sure that your External Drive is properly disconnected/shutdown.

1. Download the FreeAgent-DT-WW.zip file to your Mac Desktop.
2. Double click the FreeAgent-DT-WW.zip file. A FreeAgent-DT-WW folder will appear on your Desktop.
3. Open the FreeAgent-DT-WW Folder. Select all files/folders and copy them to the root of your FreeAgent Drive.
4. Open the User Manual in the DocumentationUser manuals folder on the FreeAgent for information on how to install and use the software.
