WD has released an update to WD SmartWare software that is available for download to your computer. This update is only available for products that originally shipped with WD SmartWare and will not function on previous generations of products.

This update is recommended for Windows users who wish to install WD SmartWare for the first time or wish to update versions of WD SmartWare prior to 1.1.1.3.

This WD SmartWare update addresses several foreign language issues and should be downloaded for use on non-English language systems.

A) This update is recommended for the following versions of the Mac OS:

- Mac OS X 10.4.11
- Mac OS X 10.5.8
- Mac OS X 10.6.x

B) Installing this update will halt your automatic continuous backup protection. You will then need to specify your backup categories to resume automatic continuous backup protection as before.

1. Download the WD SmartWare Software Updater to your hard drive.
2. Locate and launch the WD SmartWare Software Updater.
3. After the update completes, restart your computer to finalize the update process and start the WD SmartWare software.
4. On the Backup tab, make your backup category selections, click Apply Changes if required, and click Run Backup to resume automatic continuous backup protection.
