Description

This is a manual firmware update (firmware 3.04.06) and requires a SD card and the dock that shipped with the camera for the update or a PC with a SD card reader slot.

If you do not have a SD card or if you have the HP Photosmart software (either Photosmart Premier or Photosmart Essentials) installed on a Windows PC, you should instead download the HP Photosmart Automatic Firmware Update utility for your HP Photosmart camera.

Installation Instructions

Before downloading this update, check the current firmware version of your camera. To check the firmware version, hold down the flash button on the camera while turning the camera on.

This will cause the camera to enter the "Diagnostic Screen". If the firmware version number (reported as "FW 3.04.##" on the LCD display of the camera) is less than 3.04.06 (for example: 3.04.05 or earlier), the camera needs this update. To clear the Diagnosic Screen, turn off the camera.

When you click on the COL17133.exe link to download this firmware update, you can either 'Run' or 'Save' the file. If you elect to 'Save' the file, please note the location where COL17133.exe is 'Saved' so that you can locate the file using Windows Explorer and double-click on it to 'Run' it.

When you select to 'Run' the file (or when you 'Run' the file after saving it), it will create "C:\Program Files\HP R967 FW 3.04.06". The firmware update files will expand into this folder. Next the Readme file that contains the instructions on how to update the firmware in the camera will open.

If the Readme does not open, please locate an appropriate Readme.html document in one of the sub-folders and double-click on it to open it. Follow the instructions in the Readme file to update the camera firmware.

Once the firmware has been successfully updated, the COL17133.exe file as well as the "C:\Program Files\HP R967 FW 3.04.06" folder and all its sub-folders can be removed.
