Modifications enabled with firmware Ver. 1.1

When some new AA lithium batteries were inserted in the camera and the camera was turned on, the camera sometimes failed to function. This issue has been resolved.
The following issues sometimes occurred under Windows XP (confirmed with Service Pack 3) with pictures taken with this camera and copied from the memory card to the hard disk of a computer running Windows XP using a card reader or similar device. These issues have been resolved.

When attempting to rotate an image by displaying image thumbnails in the Windows Explorer, right-clicking on an image, and then selecting Rotate Clockwise or Rotate Counter Clockwise from the menu, an error message was sometimes displayed, preventing image rotation.
In addition, images sometimes could not be rotated using Windows XP Windows Picture and Fax Viewer operations.
When attempting to save images edited or processed using the Windows XP Paint application, an error message was sometimes displayed and the image file size was 0 KB.

An issue that caused a “3D” icon to be displayed with the separate JPEG image saved along with an actual 3D image in the Nikon Transfer 2 transfer dialog has been resolved.
