Sony PCWA-A500 Wireless LAN Access Point with Card Firmware Update Program

This program installs a new version of the firmware and enables the following functions:
* Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) - Only with NAT Router mode
* VPN Path with NAT Router Mode
* Increased Throughput
* Channel Auto Selection Mode
* Save and Retrieve the Access Point Setup Configuration
To access to the Access Point Setup page to update the firmware, it is necessary to connect to the Access Point via Wireless or via Network 2 with a cross over-cable. Do not set the proxy setting on the web browser. While updating the software, do not power off the Access Point or the device may be rendered inoperable.
1. Connect the computer containing the firmware update to the PCWA-A500 Access Point via wireless connection or by a cross-over cable to Network 2.
2. Open the Access Point Setup page.
3. Select "Update."
4. Click "Browse" and navigate to the directory to which the Firmware update was saved, and then select the PCWA-A500-010502.bin file.
5. Click "Next".
6. Please wait as the file transferring is completed and file is confirmed as correct file.
7. When the "Updating completed" message appears, insert the Wireless LAN PC card into the PC card slot on the computer.
NOTE: The Message, Wireless, Network 1 and Network 2 indicators will blink while the firmware is in the process of being updated. During this update process be very careful not to turn off the power. If the power inadvertently turns off during the firmware upgrade, the device will be harmed and may no longer work properly. If the firmware update fails, confirm that the file selected in step 3 is the correct one, and go through the update process again.
8. The Access Point will reboot automatically.
9. To confirm that firmware has updated properly, open the Access Point Setup page.
10. Click Status to view the Access Point status information.
11. Verify that the firmware version is listed as 1.5.2
NOTE: If the firmware version is not 1.5.2, please download and install this firmware update again.
