This utility updates the firmware of the VGP-MR100U VAIO® RoomLink™ Network Media Receiver to version 1.0.28 and resolves the following issues:
* When the tool menu is displayed during video playback, the VGP-MR100U may stop responding in rare cases.
* Faint noises may be included in the audio output.
* Cannot input a "Space" when using the software keyboard.
Important Notes
* It is necessary to use a VAIO® computer with the Microsoft® Windows® XP operation system to install the firmware update.
* Before installing the firmware update ensure that the RoomLink™ application is installed on the computer.
* Before installing the firmware update ensure all VAIO computer applications are updated to latest version available from the Sony Support Web Site.
* Before installing the firmware update ensure you have the RoomLink remote control available. The remote control is required during the firmware update process.
* Connect the VGP-MR100U to the network using a network cable to update the firmware.
* Do not use a wireless network connection to update the VGP-MR100U firmware. This could cause severe damage due to firmware corruption.
* Do not disconnect the network cable during the firmware update.
* Connect the computer and the VGP-MR100U to the same router or hub, without any other computers connected, while running the firmware update utility.
* Before installing the firmware update ensure that all other computers on the same network are powered off. Only the computer being used for the update and VGP-MR100U should be on the network. If more than one computer and the VGP-MR100U are on the network it will cause errors in the data transmitted to the VGP-MR100U.
* Do not connect more than one RoomLink device to the network while performing the firmware update. The firmware update can only be performed on one VGP-MR100U at a time.
* During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
* To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
* It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
