The Samsung SGH-i907 cell phone supports multiple methods of notifications for events through visual and audio alerts. By implementing power saving techniques, a side effect that disables audio alerts was noticed. Samsung has developed a software patch which will now enable the EPIX to provide audible notifications alerts for your emails when the device enters an unattended power saving mode. A previously established PC connection is required to apply the update to the mobile phone using the below instructions.

For ActiveSync

1. Start an ActiveSync session and click on Explore
2. Find the file Epix_Notification_Patch.cab saved to your Desktop
3. Click and drag the cab file into the “Mobile Device”/ My Documents folder

For Windows Mobile Device Center

1. Start a Windows Mobile Device Center session, go to File Management and click on Browse the content of your device.
2. Find the file Epix_Notification_Patch.cab saved to your Desktop
3. Click and drag the cab file into the “Mobile Device”/ My Documents folder
