WFC RIP Update 4.6v2 New Features

- Presets allow all settings to be stored and applied for a print job. Changing the preset will choose the correct ICC, plus all the other settings except for job size (Width, Height, Scale width, Scale height), Page range, and tiling. Presets can be applied from the Color Management tab of job properties and from the RIP and print dialogs. Presets can be saved from the Color Management tab of job properties. - Presets from RIP and Print can now be resized to see full preset name.
- It is now easier to manage the setups and preferences using the Preference Manager (formerly Clear Preferences). This application provides a means of storing the settings, recalling stored settings, or returning back to factory default settings. Pages 4-5 in the file help.pdf explain in more detail how this feature works.
- Color Adjustment sliders in job properties have been replaced with full curve adjustment. Page 65 in the file help.pdf explains in more detail how this feature works
- Better ink split control for smoother transitions. Ink split curve is used to calculate when to use the light and darks inks. When we RIP a job, CMYKLcLm is treated as 4 color with the light inks generated automatically based on the split table. The new split table is more expandable and allows for curve smoothing. It can be accessed by clicking Job Properties>Color Management>Ink Limit>Ink Split. Page 69 in the file help.pdf explains in more detail how this feature works
- Ink Split is now applied when loading a preset.
- Adobe PostScript Printer PPDs for desktop printing can now be recognized in Macintosh OS9. Pages 10-11 in the file help.pdf discuss in more detail the installation process.
- Driver Options now apply if preset is selected in RIP and Print.
- After selecting a preset, it no longer displays "Not Calibrated" in properties dialog.
- On import, if some files already exist message that appears now includes an "Apply to all items" checkbox so you don’t have to click Yes or No many times.
- New media is now added during import of preset.
- Preset now applies multi ink limit for 3rd party ICC profiles.
- Choosing a preset in "Add Job" for a 3rd party profile no longer gives an error.
